Our first event to focus on the world of retail with Chris Davies former CEO of household names Disney and Staples. Chris' unique style of management and business development techniques will resonate with many in the audience, so too the obvious challenges ahead with Brexit, exporting and the prosperity of our communities. As Giles Thorley takes up his role as CEO of the new Development Bank of Wales we look forward to hearing more about the financial support for businesses in Wales and the interaction with the commercial banking world.
In a business career spanning forty years, 20 years of which as MD/CEO, Chris worked at Board level across the disciplines; marketing, sales, operations and finance. He has worked primarily in multi-site / multi-channel retail and distribution and “big brands”. As CEO he operated in the private sector (PE backed) and the public markets.
Neil is Risk Compliance and Legal Director at the Development Bank of Wales and he leads the portfolio team who look after investments that require additional support. He is a member of the Group's investment committee. His role also includes oversight of regulatory compliance and quality assurance for the Group.
